“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

God never ceases to amaze me! Can I get an Amen? I’ve been praying all morning for God to let me know what I should write about today. I had a lot of ideas but I wanted it to be God’s path, not mine! I opened my website to write and saw I had 2 drafts. Hmm, what are these? And right here, in my Drafts, is what God wants me to talk about today.

So as you read, remember that some of this was written months ago and some was written today. But wow, how it all applies!

I’m going to start with one of my favorite sayings right now - it’s been a crazy month this week! It seems like everything that could go wrong did go wrong. From computer issues to Internet connections to a huge disappointment, it’s been a whirlwind. And I’m going to be totally honest here - some of the time, I did NOT handle it well. I grumbled and mumbled and wondered how and where God was working in my life. Can you relate?

Yet even as I’m writing this post, I’m realizing how God is always working in my life. We’ve been studying Daniel in an online bible study. Now, Daniel wasn’t the easiest book of the Bible for me to study. It has a LOT of dreams and prophecies and interpretations in it. That’s not my forte!

But through it all, two themes were made clear on how we can stand firm and confidently face life’s challenges:

1. We can live in a world filled with sin -and troubles - and disappointments - and sickness - and money issues - and on and on - YET face it all with unshakeable CONFIDENCE.

Our names have already been written in the book of life - our future is secure. So whatever we face today, and yes, it can seem overwhelming, we can face it with the CONFIDENCE that God is truly at work. That can get us through these trials with grace and love and patience. He has already written our story and He loves us. So our story may not end the way we want it to, but it will end with His love and His glory.

“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?”. Hebrews 13:6

2. Let’s be those who stand firm in the faith of God.

As Bible scholar Dale Davis said, “After evil does its worst, the church of Jesus will be there standing on their feet … God is going to have a thirteen-thirty-five people.” This is in reference to Daniel 12:11-12. We don’t know the true meaning of these numbers but we do know that when the worse is here, there will be people of God who stand firm. Will I be one of those who stand firm? AM I one who stands firm today, even now when evil hasn’t quite done its worst yet?”

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13

When we focus on God and how many times He has blessed us, I believe it's so much easier to face whatever comes with Confidence in Him and His work. Whether this be health scares, financial troubles, worry, anxiety, and business woes, all is handled so much easier when we remember His faithfulness in the past - and have confidence of His faithfulness now! This is true in our personal lives and in our business lives.

So here are my questions for us all today:

  • What are some practical ways of remembering His faithfulness as we stand confident in our personal life today?

  • What are some practical ways of incorporating His faithfulness into our business lives today, to that we can be confident that we are doing His work?

Let me hear from you!
